Is Invisalign in Inwood Village Right for Me? at Inwood Village

Best dentist in Dallas, TX

If you are tired of looking in the mirror and seeing crooked, misaligned teeth, you now have multiple orthodontic treatment options. In the past, your only option was traditional metal braces. Now, you can choose a less noticeable treatment with Invisalign in Inwood Village. By correcting the alignment of your teeth, you will improve your oral health and your confidence. However, which is the right option for you? Dr. Brownlee will help you make an educated decision.

Invisalign vs. Metal Braces

Metal braces have been used for decades because they are affordable and effective for treating even the most complex alignment issues. Using wires and brackets that are attached to the teeth, the teeth are slowly pulled into their correct position. While this method is effective, it does come with several disadvantages, such as a very noticeable treatment. Invisalign solves the issues of traditional braces while providing a more sophisticated treatment.

Invisalign uses a series of custom-made aligners that are worn over the teeth to gradually move them into their correct positions. The aligners are clear, so no one will ever notice you are undergoing treatment. You have a discreet means to correct the alignment of your teeth while enjoying many additional benefits.

Quick, Comfortable Treatment

The use of metal wires and brackets often cause irritation to the inside of the lips and cheeks. Since Invisalign involves the use of smooth, custom-fit aligners, you enjoy added comfort with no irritation to the lips or cheeks. In addition, treatment time with the aligners is shorter. On average, treatment only takes 12 months.

Added Convenience

Metal braces require frequent dental appointments. Adjustments must be made to the wires to progress the treatment. This can conflict with your schedule. Invisalign offers a hassle-free approach because you do not need adjustments, so you will spend less time in our office.

We provide you with your series of aligners. You will wear each aligner for about two weeks. You can switch to the next aligner right from your own home. While you do not need to come in for adjustments, we will still need to see you every few weeks so we can monitor the progression of your treatment.

Restriction-Free Option

Traditional braces cover a large portion of the front surfaces of the teeth. This makes oral hygiene difficult by having to clean around the wires and brackets. Invisalign makes oral hygiene easier because the aligners are removable. Simply care for your teeth normally and clean the aligners prior to placing them back in your mouth.

Since the aligners are removable, you will not have dietary restrictions either. You can eat and drink what you like, just remove the aligners before doing so. You will need to clean the aligners prior to placing them back in your mouth. Be sure you are wearing them for at least 22 hours per day.
